Advancing Academic Quality and Global Collaboration

Royal Roads University is committed to delivering education that is innovative, globally connected, and grounded in academic excellence. As Royal Roads University expands its international engagement through the Ras Al Khaimah campus, maintaining strong academic standards, institutional alignment, and student-centred learning remains central to our mission.

The Royal Roads University Ras Al Khaimah campus represents an important extension of the University’s academic vision and global outlook. Our responsibility is to ensure that students studying in Ras Al Khaimah experience the same quality assurance, academic integrity, and supportive learning environment that define Royal Roads University in Canada.

Higher education today must prepare students for a world that is increasingly interconnected, fast-changing, and driven by innovation. Universities therefore have an important responsibility not only to provide academic knowledge, but also to foster critical thinking, leadership, ethical understanding, and global perspective. Through the RRU RAK campus, we aim to create an educational experience that equips students with the confidence and capabilities required to contribute meaningfully within their professions and communities.

Throughout my career in university leadership and academic governance, I have had the privilege of working with institutions, policymakers, researchers, and international organizations across Canada and globally. These experiences have reinforced the importance of collaboration, academic rigor, and continuous innovation in higher education.

At Royal Roads University Ras Al Khaimah, we are focused on building a campus that reflects the values and standards of Royal Roads University while also responding thoughtfully to the needs of students and industries within the UAE and the wider region. By fostering strong coordination between Canada and the RAK campus, we remain committed to delivering programs that are globally relevant, academically rigorous, and professionally meaningful.

These experiences have reinforced the importance of collaboration, academic rigor, and continuous innovation in higher education.

I look forward to supporting the continued development of the campus and working alongside students, faculty, staff, and partners as we strengthen Royal Roads University’s presence within the region and contribute to the advancement of higher education internationally.
